Pablo Picasso's endless fascination with his lover's character and form
led to radical shifts in his conception of portraiture and the mystical metamorphoses that the act of creation entails. Picasso's secretive love affair with Marie-Therese Walter, which began in 1927, inspired a radical shift in his conception of portraiture. The exhibition and catalogue present Marie-Therese as a primary vehicle for his experimentation during the period, including several works never before seen in the United States as well as previously unpublished personal letters and photographs. Picasso and Marie-Therese sheds new light on the interpretation of one of the most creative relationships in Picasso's rich and varied oeuvre.

A fisherman and a fishmonger, a slave and a goddess, a princess and a werewolf ...Real, mythical and imaginary people come together in this stunning picture book. Each figure is juxtaposed with another on the opposite page. These relationships are often funny and surprising; sometimes the connection is obvious, other times it takes a bit of thinking.

Pure and Dirty is a unique book that captures the world through the eyes of Claire Reynolds and Chrissie Hall. By using themselves as the central characters, Reynolds and Hall have documented a wild journey into sexuality and the Australian bush. They have been creatively guided by Australian artist Tracey Moffatt.

“On a mission to photograph what is pure and what is dirty, we wanted a space without boundaries, where nothing was off-limits, where we could rampantly discover ways of reconnecting with nature. We took road trips, we took the city to the bush, we were naked, we made pictures – we made art“. Reynolds and Hall

Robert Crumb first began drawing record covers in 1968 when Janis Joplin asked him to provide a cover for her album Cheap Thrills. It was an invitation that the budding artist couldn't resist, especially since he had been fascinated with record covers since he was a teenager. This early collaboration proved so successful that Crumb went on to draw hundreds of record covers for both new artists and forgotten masters. So remarkable were Crumb's artistic interpretations of these old 78 rpm singles that the art itself proved influential in their rediscovery in the 1960s and 1970s. Including such classics as Truckin' My Blues Away, Harmonica Blues and Please Warm My Weiner, Crumb's opus also features more recent covers done for CDs. The Complete Record Cover Collection is a must-have for any lover of graphics and American music.

Author Biography: Included are R. Crumb's designs for Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Woody Guthrie, Frank Zappa, Artie Shaw and many other artists. Author website: www.crumbproducts.com

Bringing together unique and rarely seen photographs, paintings, sculpture and drawings, this exquisite book tells the story of the tumultuous relationship between the artists Man Ray (1890 - 1976) and Lee Miller (1907 - 1977). From 1929 to 1932, the two lived together in Paris, first as teacher and student, and later as lovers. Historically, Miller has been described as Man Ray's muse, but Partners in Surrealism reveals how their brief, mercurial love affair was a key source of mutual and sustained inspiration, resulting in some of the most powerful work of each artist's career. Featuring a candid and poignant contribution from Antony Penrose, the son of Miller and the English painter Roland Penrose, on the relationship between Man Ray and his parents in later years, this is an extraordinary exploration of the love, lust and desire that drove the art of the Surrealists.

Author Biography: Lynda Roscoe Hartigan is Chief Curator at the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts. Antony Penrose is Director of the Lee Miller Archives and the Penrose Collection. Phillip Prodger is Curator of Photography at the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts.

The definitive monograph, collecting twenty years of work by two iconoclastic and subversive contemporary British artists. Jake and Dinos Chapman's work has come to define the spirit and impact of a generation of contemporary artists we know as the YBAs. Taking many forms across many mediums, from major installations to miniature sculpture, from etchings and drawings to films and performances, their work together and individually examines contemporary politics and morality with characteristic irreverence and profoundly caustic humor.
Edited by the artists themselves, "Flogging a Dead Horse" is the most definitive monograph on the brothers' work to date. With more than 300 reproductions of every major piece recorded in their career, the book captures the extraordinary detail of their celebrated dioramas, collects a vast archive of etchings, drawings, and watercolors, and draws on photographs of larger installations and exhibitions to present a comprehensive survey of twenty years of work-and to illuminate the monumental effort behind their projects.
Designed by the Chapmans' longtime collaborators Fuel, and with original cover and slipcase art made for the project by Dinos Chapman, this book will stand as a collectible object in its own right.

Review: "Their incendiary artworks are stark-raving--and stark-naked--mad in the most divine way possible." "Black Book"

Mottled surfaces and frayed corners anchor us firmly in the rough and tumble of the creative process. Designed to be disposable, every annotation and mis-step is a part of cultural and artistic history. We sense a depth so lacking in today's digital manipulation. Page by page, readers witness the unfolding of Bisang's vision. Featuring such stars as Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista, this collection may just become a cult classic.

Probably the best way to celebrate the 15th anniversary is to publish the first book on Sculpture by the Sea. Featuring a selection of images from every Sculpture by the Sea exhibition over the last 15 years in Australia and Denmark the book includes essays by leading Australian art critic John McDonald on the history of the exhibition; Dr. Michael Hill of the National Art School on sculpture outdoors from a historical perspective; a behind the scenes look at what goes into making each exhibition; and the ideas behind the exhibition and how it all began by David Handley.
